The Ghost

I'm the ghost
of days past, present,
and future-
an apparition
dressed in flesh and bone.
You've seen my past
and present-
you already know my future.

Your microscopic eyes
strip away secrets
beneath flesh and bone,
making me invisible-
never to claim my pain.

History happened
and memories can't forget.
I may be a ghost,
but do the dead get resurrected?
Can the present cremate the past
to make peace with the future?
Can silence offer sanctuary
for what haunts your mind?
Can the imagination clothe
your secrets behind flesh and bone?

This ghost may never know.
