Home Planet News Online Welcome to the 3rd issue of Home Planet News Online. HPNOnLine is a planet much like our own, perhaps with a bit more sanity. If you stumbled on us by accident, don't panic, remember to put your oxygen mask on first, and then relax and enjoy what is actually not one planet but a gathering of many different worlds...which is to say, a collection of writing: poems, stories, reviews, a memoir, and some wonderful graphics by various artist. If you are already familiar with us, thanks for continuing the work of Donald Lev and Enid Dame who started the paper edition of Home Planet News in 1979. Our Featured Writers in this issue are two fine poets, each with a unique style and a comprehension of structure and precise use of imagery that brings their poems to a deeply satisfying fullness. Linda Lerner's collection, Yes, the Ducks Were Real, was published by NYQ Books (Feb. 2015) Few poets are as prolific as lyn lifshin. According to the Bio Notes on her website, lynlifshin.com, lyn has published over 125 books. An amazing accomplishment, rendered more amazing by the clarity and haunting reality of her work.
Her latest books are: Secretariat: The Red Freak, The Miracle, Malala and A Girl Goes into the Woods.
Home Planet News Online takes pride in introducing the addition of two Executive Editors:
Phillis Gershator and Patricia Carragon. Phillis has been quietly editing HPN OnLine before we got the first issue up and running. Her advice, and willingness to spend a great deal of time insuring the quality of our website is invaluable. And. In spite of a consistently heavy workload with her own awesome website Brownstone Poets Patricia has constantly given HPN OnLine her time and expertise. I was very happy when she agreed to join us. There will be at least one new printed issue of Home Planet News. Donald Lev is working to complete it as soon as possible. There will also be an attempt to digitalize all of the printed issues of Home Planet News. A formidable task but one owed to the poetry community. If any one is interested in helping with this historic project please contact us at hpnonline@yahoo.com. We will continue to keep you informed of this at our website:
