They speak the difference or distance. They speak the cow or the crow. They speak the mirror that doesn't work and the machine that does. They speak the smoke that weighs too much.

East of Borneo, Rose Hobart managed to crawl into a film by Joseph Cornell. Everything in it was colored blue. Dali thought that it was stolen from his dreams, and knocked over the projector.

He was devoured by the hounds. Or by the children. Or by the light the window allowed to escape. Behind him the wind was hidden in the trees. Behind him the machine was still only a drawing.

INFORMATION

There are many versions of the same man, each of them passing in different directions, carrying different tools to do different tasks they are not yet able to identify. They are not the same man, yet each of them is the same, dressed the same, but carrying no separate shadow of their own. They have no voices, yet their voices are all the same and at some time will be forced to sing the same song, a song that does not yet exist.

It is not magic if the doll is pulled by a string. It is not the stars that move—it is us. Sometimes the sea gives back its dead. The word that is required is a word older than the sea itself. If it is mispronounced the results will not be the same.
